The Wildlife-Environment Nature Club was founded on July 29, 1994 by a student of Loreto College, Pooja Panth. An active and enthusiastic club, it aims to increase awareness about the deteriorating physical environment and arouse sensitivity towards nature. The society organizes a number of events during SAMAGAM, such as Re-Use (participants make creative and useful articles out of old waste materials), Photography (photographs are submitted pertaining to nature/environment based themes) and Half-A-Minute (speakers have to elaborate on topics of current concern). In addition, the society organizes an annual exhibition, usually focusing on the environmental studies syllabus. Dustbin drives have also been successful. The Wall Magazine periodically highlights issues of immediate importance. Members write letters to the Corporation regarding environmental problems in their localities. WE Nature Club participates in several off-campus events, such as the Anti-Pollution Campaign and Poster Competition. The Inter-College Debate organized by the Anti-Pollution Society is hosted by the society. Members also helped to collect signatures for the "SAVE TIGER" project coordinated by the NGO ’The Junglees’.
